Youth Food & Farm Program

The AgCulture Youth Food and Farm Program involves teenagers in the Ames area in growing and cooking fresh food. Each spring, teens meet after school to learn how to cook with fresh ingredients and plant vegetable gardens in the community. When summer comes along, the AgCulture youth get paid to help in the fields of nearby farms, learn about food systems, and develop leadership skills. After all that hard work our teens are ready to use their knowledge and hands to give back to the community. Teens work on community projects each fall that focus on food access and community gardening.

The AgCulture program was started in February 2011 as a project of Urban Dreams.
